Building Department Update – 6/7/21
Starting July 1st, The City of Lakewood Building Department will be resuming Residential/Commercial Certificate of Code Compliance inspections (Point of Sale). These inspections will be completed to any non-owner-occupied rental property prior to the sale of the home. If the sale was under contract prior to July 1st, we will not require an inspection. The Certificate of Code Compliance forms can be found the City of Lakewood’s website under Housing and Building. You may also pick up an application by appointment only.
At the same time, The City of Lakewood Building Department will resume proactive Safety and Maintenance inspections on rental properties. All rental properties are on a three-year rotation for inspection to assure the safety and well being of the occupants, as well as the general condition of the property. If you have any questions regarding these policy’s, please contact The City of Lakewood Building Department (216)529-6270.
