Whom will I be signing with?
Here at Cleveland Home Title, we have different team members that play important roles throughout the process of your closing. While you may have spoken with your escrow officer through the majority of this process, when it comes to signing day, you will be greeted with a team member (Notary) whose responsibility is to ensure that your documents are fully explained, signed and notarized for your new home. A Notary is there to ensure you are signing the documents correctly and in the manner the Lender requires. Your closing documents must be signed and notarized by our team member, to ensure you understand what exactly you are signing, explain the documents to you, and to go over the monetary figures, and ensure that the figures are correct.
What do I need to bring with me?
Proper and current identification such as
- Drivers License or Non-Driver ID Card
- United States Passport
- Foreign Passport Stamped by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
- United States Military ID
- Veterans’ Health ID Card
- Canadian or Mexican Driver’s License Issued by an Official Government Agency
How are Funds to Closing Handled?
In the event you are to bring funds to closing, it is important to keep in mind that we cannot accept personal checks or cash. Funds in the form of a cashier’s check, treasurer’s check, or a wire transfer are acceptable.
What happens after?
Once the notarized documents are filed with the County, you will receive the keys to your new home. Once recorded in the official County records, the original deed will be mailed to your new residence; generally within four-to-six weeks.
